“Learn to go inside yourself, because this is the source of all truth. There are a lot of holy temples out here, but the most sacred of all is the temple inside you, because this is where you meet with the Holy Spirit, the Voice of God.” —Harold Klemp, Spiritual Wisdom on Prayer, Meditation and Contemplation, p.3
On a beautiful Saturday afternoon in October, visitors to Kinney Community Garden in Newark had the special opportunity to experience a moment to tune into their inner guidance at a little self-service Contemplation Corner sponsored by Eckankar in New Jersey.
Local ECKist and garden enthusiast, Joni Wellness, created a
small display of the ECK Wisdom booklets tucked away in a corner of the garden. People could take a book for free. The booklets were neatly organized along with a sign that read,
How to Choose a Book:
- Look at the titles and feel which title calls to you.
- Pause into stillness so you can ask your heart which book is right for you now.
- Take whichever one calls to your heart.
Several visitors took books and signed up to receive more information about Eckankar events in New Jersey. Another local ECKist, Peggy Pilch, was on hand at times to greet interested people who stopped by and wanted to chat. Visitors enjoyed the beauty in the garden and perhaps discovered a next step on their spiritual journey at the same time.
